A Staple In The Community
The Whittelsey family has been practicing law in Lee County for over 100 years. We take pride in being part of the community and having built our law firm in Opelika.
C.S. Whittelsey, II, started our firm in 1918 after returning from World War I. His son, C.S. “Whit” Whittelsey, III, continued the family tradition by taking over the firm in 1958. Two years later, we opened offices in our current location inside a building on the same site where the Whittelseys resided dating back to the 1800s.
In 1990, Whit and his son Davis Whittelsey partnered to work together at the firm, adding Robert G. Poole to become Whittelsey, Whittelsey & Poole, P.C. Since then, with the unfortunate passing of Mr. Whittelsey, III, the leave of Mr. Poole and the addition of attorney Johnathan K. Corley, our firm has now become the current incarnation of Whittelsey & Corley, LLC
